A Little Bit About Us...
Elliott Shaffner & Besito
This story must begin with 9 lbs of fawn colored, furry, masculine cuteness named Besito. Born in Atlanta in 2001, from the regal Chihuahua loins of Isabel, conquest of Ferdinand, Besito was quickly adopted by the equally majestic, Elliott.
Elliott instantly fell in love with Besito and his constant need to shower those around him with tiny kisses, hence the name Besito. And Besito, like so many other young royals, fell for his caretaker. They have not parted since.
One year after his birth, the pair traveled across this vast land in search of new opportunities and new territory to mark as their own. Not long after they arrived in the town of tinsel, the dynamic duo learned that Besito's royal ways would not be respected in the rougher neighborhoods - specifically, the dog parks.
From Hollywood to Malibu, Elliott witnessed Besito getting tossed about by the bigger dogs on the block – treatment the diminutive dog was not accustomed to and his friends found hard to watch.
Elliott knew Besito couldn’t be the only one battling the dog park bullies, thus the birth of "Citizen Kanine".
She decided to form a dog walking service to specifically cater to smaller dogs so they can frolic and play without the fear of injury from a lackadaisical lab. In addition to providing Besito with more petite playmates, Elliott is passionate about creating a safe atmosphere for the other majestic mutts in Los Angeles.

Will Bratten
Will has proven he can hang with the big dogs in the 'lil dog biz. Skilled in the ways of walking, hiking and pampering all pups, this young buck from the Lone Star State brings much needed extra hands, a strong right arm and a love of four-legged lick monsters to the CK-9 squad.
From the day he brought home his first pup Wiggins, a loyal collie mix, Will was hooked on hounds. And the sprawling suburban back lawns in long horn country were ideal for Wiggins to roam free and for Will to hone his canine craft.
A longtime friend of Ells and Besito, Will started earning his Citizen Kanine credentials in 2005 and has been digging it ever since. In fact, Will so loved his role in keeping canines company that he became a partner in the burgeoning business.
Also a denizen of Laurel Canyon, Will provides Citizen Kanine and their clients more flexibility, reliability and a trustworthy soul.
